A booking photograph is an agency image made during a custody event. It may be stored apart from the narrative booking and release record, so a request should name the image on its own. Release does not erase the photo automatically. It also does not give the image a new meaning. The picture documents identity as recorded by the source agency at that time. Use the creating agency’s name and the photo date when describing an image. A Manistee jail booking photo is not an MDOC offender photo. An OTIS image is tied to the state corrections record and may come from a different event. A VINE image exists only when the reporting source supplies one.

The correct channel depends on which agency created the image. Manistee County Jail bookings lead to the Sheriff. MDOC prisoners and recently discharged profiles lead to OTIS or MDOC records. VINE can add an agency-supplied image when a live record offers one. News and commercial pages may preserve copies, but they do not own the official record and cannot confirm release.

The table separates discovery from proof. A photo can remain online after a person leaves custody, transfers, receives a dismissal, or completes supervision. Confirm the underlying event with a movement record, court order, Date Paroled, or discharge entry.
Manistee Sheriff App Has No Roster
The Sheriff launched an OCV mobile app in 2025. Its official listing advertises emergency, weather, road, and public-safety alerts, tips, nonemergency help, a service directory, events, and community news. It does not advertise inmate lookup, recent releases, or mugshots. The county website likewise exposes no verified current roster, 24-hour list, 72-hour list, or release-photo view.

The visible feature list is why the app should not be presented as an undocumented Manistee mugshot or release-search tool.
The Sheriff’s social presence can carry selected public-safety news or a specific press release. It is not systematic. Posts may be deleted, focus on arrests, or omit later case events. A social image is a lead back to the agency and court record, not a release ledger.
Request Manistee Booking Photos
The most reliable local path is a narrow written request to the Manistee County Sheriff’s Office. Ask for an existing record rather than an explanation or a new list. The image should be named separately from the movement record. Include enough identity and date detail to let staff find the booking without exposing more personal information than needed.

The county procedures describe an initial response within five business days. An electronic or faxed request is treated as received on the next business day. Manistee MDOC Offender Photos
OTIS often displays an offender image for people within MDOC scope, including parolees, felony probationers, and profiles still visible after recent supervision discharge. Search by MDOC number when known. Otherwise, compare the name, physical details, conviction county, and sentence before treating the image as a match. Older records may have no electronically captured photograph.
An OTIS picture is not necessarily the Manistee County Jail booking photograph. Oaks Correctional Facility is an MDOC prison in the county, but its records do not merge with Sheriff booking files. A person whose only custody was the county jail will not appear in OTIS merely because the person was released locally. For an MDOC photo not available online, email MDOC-FOIA@michigan.gov and request the offender photograph with the name, date of birth, MDOC number, and date range.
OTIS ordinarily removes a public profile three years after supervision discharge. That is a public display horizon, not a destruction schedule. MDOC Records Retention is the next path for older former-prisoner records. A no-match can also reflect a set-aside, exempt information, scope, or an identity error.
Manistee VINE and News Photos
Michigan VINE can display an offender photo when the reporting agency supplies one and the user selects “Display offender photos in search results (if available).” Current Manistee County Jail participation was not proven by a static official list. Check the live Michigan selector or call the jail. A source outage, nonparticipation, restricted record, or different custody agency can yield no photo or no result.
A VINE image is tied to the reporting facility’s record. If the image is wrong, contact that facility because VINE cannot edit agency data. A released VINE event means exit from the reporting agency only. It does not rule out transfer, MDOC supervision, federal custody, immigration custody, or a later arrest.
Local news may reproduce an official image for a selected case. Commercial booking pages may also retain thumbnails. Neither category is authoritative, complete, or current. Correct Manistee Mugshot Records
Correction follows ownership. The Sheriff handles a Manistee County Jail booking image. MDOC handles an OTIS offender image. The reporting facility owns a VINE image. Michigan State Police or local law enforcement handles Public Sex Offender Registry data. A request to one source does not update every copied version on the internet.
If the wrong person is attached to a photo, provide the record identifier and explain the mismatch to the creating agency. Avoid sending extra personal information when the booking or MDOC number will resolve the issue. A later case disposition does not prove the original photo was misidentified, so state the correction sought with care.
Manistee Set-Aside Photo Effects
Michigan calls expungement a set aside. Eligible convictions can be set aside through the court or, in some cases, through the automatic Clean Slate process. A set-aside creates nonpublic-record effects under Michigan law. MDOC says it removes OTIS information when a conviction is set aside by court order or operation of law. A later OTIS no-match can therefore reflect lawful display removal, not proof that no record ever existed.

Sheriff booking images remain subject to the record owner’s current legal analysis, and no categorical promise can be made that every photo will be disclosed or removed. Juvenile, sealed, nonpublic, and set-aside matters require special care.
